Using steps above to clean install kudu-master again, my problem was solved. I'm saying this because I had the same problem after some googling and debugging, I discovered that during the installation, I started kudu-master before putting the correct IP address in master.gflagfile, so that kudu-master was spun up thinking it was running on a single node, not 3 node. Maybe you did not intend to "add a node", but that's most likely what happened.
The error suggests that kudu-master thinks it's running on a single node rather than 3-node cluster. I believe the most common (if not only) cause of this error ( Failed to initialize sys tables async: on-disk master list (hadoop-master:7051, slave2:7051, slave3:7051) and provided master list (:0) differ.) is when a kudu master node gets added incorrectly. (PID:3956,TID:5716,11:17:56.If this is a new installation, working under the assumption that master ip addresses are correct, I believe the easiest solution is to If your external hard drive is new, this also works perfectly for initializing it. This is the simplest way to resolve the issue of ‘Windows 11 external disk not initialized’.

Here is the file of $vds$.log (only a last part of the file). The same message " Diskpart failed to clear disk attributes". I can't even reformat the disk because I cannot find such option, not that I want to really, because I have 1.2 TB worth of data on there that I want to keep so losing the information on this Drive will be quite. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > CurrentControlSet > Control > StorageDevicePoliciesĪnd change the value in 'writeprotect' to 0, and then I reboot my computer. So I click on MBR and press OK, and it gives me the error 'The media is write protected'. Use the following partition style for the selected disks: You must initialize a disk before Logical Disk Manager can access it. When I start up Disk Management it gives me a notification: There is no blue bar either, it just says the size of the disk and that it is unallocated (it does not have a Volume letter). Turns out the HD is listed there, however as 'Disk 1: Unknown 1.379 GB, Not Intialized'. Have said that I should go to Disk Management and see if my drive is there. I plugged in the HD into my laptop and I noticed that it does not show up under My Computer, only under Safely Remove Hardware and Devices. My WD external harddrive has suddenly stopped working after coming from Europe.
